and the rest of the videos.
5- ACTIVITY NUMBER FIVE: The origin of musical notes. Actividad obligatoria.
MIDDLE AGES:
We are going to write a special medieval piece of music: The hymn dedicated to Saint Johannes "Ut queant laxis".
In order to present a nice score, you can watch a video to change the appearance of your paper.
Watch the video your teacher sent you and then, copy the score drawing lines of the teatragram in red, square notes in black and a creative decoration for the first syllable: U t. You know, in ancient scores, the first letter usually had a special look.
Watch unless two videos to complete the information about the origin of musical notes.
Comment one or two significant aspects of the videos you watched in your journal.
Take a photograph while you´re making your work and send it to your teacher.
Take a photograph and send it to your teacher.
1- Hildegard von Bingen ( one of the most important female composers from Middle Ages).
2- Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi, belonging to Carmina Burana. We spoke about goliards.
3- Secular music from Middle Ages ( Cantigas and medieval instruments).
We painted rose windows ( rosetones) and miniatures belonging to "Cantigas de Santa María", by Alfonso X the Wise.
This miniature was drawn by Olivia Torrella.

tierra mía do nací.
Si muriese sin ventura,
sepúltenme en alta sierra,
por que no extrañe la tierra
mi cuerpo en la sepultura;
y en sierra de grande altura,
por ver si veré de allí
las tierras a do nací.
Soledad tengo de ti,
¡oh! tierras donde nací.
