2º ESO Bilingual Section. 2021-2022.

We started our lessons watching a musical film, August Rush.

In class, we worked the types of music, a worksheet about the film and different activities related to this special movie. 





We review the structure of a pop song listening to "Something inside"

In our next lesson,  we learnt what a leitmotiv is.


Finally, students composed original leitmotivs using Perfect piano, their ukeleles and other apps.

We started to prepare old paper to take notes and to imitate ancient scores.

The conference was really interesting and exciting. It was organised by Nines ( Literature teacher in 2º A).
Angel sang as soloist a part of Santa Maria Strela do dia and immediately after al the group sang a "romance" composed by Marcos and Pedro:

We sang and played  "Hallelujah", composed by Leonard Cohen and performed by Rufus Wainright.

What´s the opera?

We watched a video about one of the most famous castrati, Farinelli, singers who could sing as a woman with the lungs of a man, so they were chant´s  virtuosi. 



We worked about Ombra mai fu, taking photos about trees to celebrate World Enviroment´s day.

Evaluación del alumnado de la asignatura :

Se pasó un test para hacer una autoevaluación y comentarios de la marcha de la asignatura.
Una gran parte del alumnado coincide en que les ha encantado tocar el ukelele, cantar,  las clases de danza, percusión corporal y las actividades en grupo que se han realizado. 
Aún así se ha echado de menos más actividades en grupo, trabajar mejor y con más antelación los vídeos que se han puesto en clase para sacarles más jugo. 
En los resultados académicos se puede apreciar que se premió la buena participación en eventos musicales y la realización de trabajos voluntarios propuestos en classroom, es decir, un esfuerzo extra así como el estudio regular hecho con atención e interés. 

Mi propuesta de mejora para el curso próximo es no abandonar las tareas diarias ( como sucedió este curso) sino trabajar desde el principio centrada en la clase pero sin dejar de profundizar cada 15 días en algún tema que sea oportuno fijar para ir creando hábito de trabajo que redunde en mejorar la calificación en la asignatura.

1º ESO. Bilingual Section. 2021-2022.

Welcome to a new year: 2021-2022 at IES Rodríguez Moñino

We started singing and dancing different songs and analysing their structure: Intro, verses, chorus, etc


We painted a cover page for our notebooks  while we were listening to a Baroque piece of music:

Air in D by J. S. Bach. ( Chamber music) 



During our first lessons we´ll learn: 

1- the parts of the song ( INTRO, VERSE, PRECHORUS,  CHORUS, BRIDGES, SOLO, OUTRO, ETC) 

2- lyrics by heart accompanied by a choreographies and body percussion

6. At the end of Octover we dealt with Halloween´s cliches and Musical´s cliches for this time:
 
- Soundtracks belonging to Scary Movies. Ex:Dead silence, Psycho, by Bernard Herrmann

- Classical pieces of music like "Night on a bald mountain" by Mussorgsky, "Tocata in D minor" for organ by Bach, etc. 




- Soundtrack composed using  the apprehension engine, by Mark Korven ( "Cube" "The Witch")


- Pop music for Halloween as "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.  We were dancing and singing this song in class.

We rehearsed in class and during the breaks a repertoire formed by African songs and pop songs with a simple choreography to perform it in AULAS CARNAVALERAS.

And finally, Mª José collected journals to write a mark to evaluate "competencias adquiridas" and everybody tuned their ukeleles with a digital tuner and  played ukeleles in class.
