August Rush III 

A complete work about this film for a trimester

August Rush is all about music.

We need to get in depth in the study of the musical connections in this task.

0. Previous work: Watch the film in class organized in scenes and then, in groups students will answer the questions in August I and II documents. 

(Perhaps you can watch the film at home with English subtitles as an extra homework assignment).
1. Can you describe four classmates with four personality aspects?. Try to gues who other classmates are referring to. 

1. The sound of silence ( two lessons)
-At the beginning, Evan gets carried away with a world of sounds from nature itself. He is most attentive to a diversity of sounds and identifies their qualities.

a) In two minutes, write in jour journal all the sounds you can hear in the classroom.
( We must keep in silence)

b) Feel your emotions during the exercise. Write about it. 

c) In two minutes, write in your journal all the sounds you can hear it outdoor.   

d) Homework: Write the sounds you can hear in two minutes in three different places at home.

e) Write a poem about "Silence" using a special structure in groups:
Lines 1, 5 and 8 must be similar. Lines 2 and 7 must be similar. Lines 2, 3, 4 and 6 can be diferent. 
Create a choreography for this poem in groups and performs it.


PAY ATTENTION, during Covid 19 time, keep the distance.

   REVIEWING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOUND ( ONE LESSON)

NOISE POLLUTION ( TWO LESSONS)
1. 5. When Evan first comes to town, he gets kind of dizzy because of the amount of sound around him.Could you describe a moment in your life in which the sound stimulation perceived might have also made you feel dizzy or perhaps nervous?
1.6. Look up the definition of noise pollution and the problems it can bring about.

1.9. Bring three pieces of different fruits. Cover your ears and listen to the sounds of the fruit pieces in your mouth and write a possible story with that peculiar soundtrack.


COMPOSING MUSIC: 

 2. Evan gets delighted when he listens to the wind chime. It is his first contact with a musical instrument with several rods each sounding a different musical note.

2.1.Do you know of any musical instrument that people usually have at their homes that makes music without anybody playing any note on it?

2. 2.Perhaps you know an object that can be used as a musical instrument or an instrument that can be played in a non typical way. Describe it.

2. 3.Study all the contents related to human voice and instruments in the orchestra.

3- Evan has the ability to turn everything he hears into music.
